The words that changed my life … “marry us!”
Out of left field, a beautiful young couple I know excitedly requested … “we want you to marry us”. What an honour! Of course I wanted to say “Yes!” But … there was one problem … I was not an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
However, as a successful business owner, experienced presenter, author, uni lecturer, event organiser and facilitator; it had always been in the back of my mind that one day, yes, I would love to be a Celebrant. My dream job!
I had, I realised, been developing over many years the raft of skills needed; such as intuitive communication skills, compassion, a love of public speaking, creation of powerful presentations, activity and ritual design, empathy, time management, attention to detail, emotional intelligence and a lifetime of celebrating with people I love to make sense of all that life has to throw at us!!
So I completed the Certificate IV in Celebrancy and the Funeral Training units then successfully applied to the Attorney General’s Department to proudly become a registered Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
I am so honoured to share with you that I will be marrying this special couple at the end of 2020. What a gift they have given me; my new role as a Celebrant for love, loss and life. It’s like everything I have been doing my whole life has come together in this role. I am so grateful. And they sent me a gorgeous delivery of congratulatory flowers!
My focus is to make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible whilst filling you with confidence that your ceremony will be one to remember forever.
I am passionate about creating and facilitating ceremonies and nature-based rituals that engage and connect us to ourselves, others, places and spirit through all our senses. I feel it’s important for our wellbeing to acknowledge, integrate and celebrate life’s many transitions and thresholds.
I adhere to the Celebrant’s Code of Practice and continually improve my services through annual professional development governed by the Attorney General’s Department.
Being a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants keeps me connected with my peers and provides me with both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
I have invested in a high quality Bose PA sound system with Sennheiser wireless radio microphone plus a backup cord mic (just to be sure). You can be assured that your guests will hear every word of your ceremony. You are also welcome to use the Bluetooth function to play your ceremony music through my sound system while you manage it wirelessly from your phone.

Watch the video below delivering my beautiful boy’s eulogy before a crowd of 600+ people. I shared the stage with his surfboard on one side and his body on the other. His coffin was exquisitely decorated by his family and friends. This moment was the most challenging and saddest thing I have ever done. I hope it gives you a sense that I am resilient and can handle any situation of love, loss and life!
So … get in touch and let’s get started. We have your ceremony to plan. I want to know what you’re passionate about.
